Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on 18 November 1985, in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix displayed an early talent to play sports while taking classes at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting talent at that when she was just a teenager. Within a short time after her first race, Felix placed second in the 200-meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix, who graduated high school in 2003, signed an athletic contract with Adidas. Then she attended an institution called the University of Southern California and was a teacher in the elementary school. The first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics, in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record running 200m in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, she became the youngest world champion of 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007 by beating her longtime Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was an avid competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She always finished within the top three places of every event.
