Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
rose to fame for his role as a character on 'Saturday Night Live,' before
appearing in such large-screen comedy films as 'Elf"Anchorman,"
"Talladega Nights.' Will Ferrell was born in Irvine, California in 1967.
He began his comedic career by playing an actor for the improv troupe based in
Los Angeles, the group called the Groundlings. He was an Saturday Night Live
cast member for seven years before becoming an important comedic attraction
through off-color successes, including Old School 2003 and Anchorman: The
Legend of Ron Burgundy 2004. Ferrell was also the co-founder of the popular
video streaming site Funny or Die, and was a successful voiceover actor on
animated movies like Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell was born on the 16th
of July, 1967, in Irvine, California. Will Ferrell was the youngest child of
Righteous Brothers keyboardist Lee Ferrell as well as instructor Kay Ferrell.
He was himself, as he admitted not the typical class clown while he was a
University High School student. Ferrell, who was quiet and reserved was adamant
about making his mark on the field, where he set the school record for the most
field goals he scored. Even within the more relaxed surroundings of his
suburban home, Ferrell displayed little of the outrageous, humorous expressions
that would later define his career. In an interview with Esquire his mother,
she said Ferrell was "very well-behaved, very easy-going." "You
have seen those cute Matchbox cars? Will arrange his Matchbox cars on his own
and be extremely happy. You'd ask, "You want to go to Disneyland
today?" This would be a tough conversation for him to consider.
"That's not to say that Ferrell was a straight man. A glimpse of Ferrell's
comic abilities was seen every morning in high school when he disguised himself
and announced his day's events on the PA system. Ferrell earned his degree from
the University of Southern California, Los Angeles in 1986. He was a member of
the Delta Tau fraternity, and completed a degree in sports journalism.
